Hawaii

We were in Hawaii last week for a wedding.  I will do a series of posts.  Most of the pictures I took are of the flowers, trees and the beautiful setting for the wedding.  We were lucky to be able to stay at the home where the ceremony took place.  A few of the photos even have people in them!

The first 2 photos are from the plane.  First flying in and then as we flew out of Honolulu.  In spite of the clouds the weather was actually beautiful.  Clouds came and went but, but we barely noticed them.

 From Honolulu we had to take an inter-island hop to our destination, Kauai.       

 

We went to the beach at the mouth of the Kalihiwai River. The first photo is looking up river.

There were trees to provide shade in the parking area.

 It was a weekday afternoon and the beach was virtually deserted.

Spring (almost Summer)

We have had a good week. Visited an antique store, did a bit of thrift shopping, enjoyed all the flowers blooming in our yard & welcomed Charlie & Sarah home from their honeymoon.

Friends

We had some good friends over last night. We don't see them often, but we are always able to pick up so easily where we left off weeks, months or even years ago. It was interesting to watch the conversation(s) jump from one topic to another and back again without anyone loosing track or becoming frustrated. We ran the gamut from memories to plans for the future to current events and back. A very comfortable relationship indeed.

It reminded me of a wall plaque that another friend (since school days) gave us one Christmas. I love it and still have it hanging on our wall.

So, for all our friends with whom we have "history" I am posting it's words here. We love you all so much and are thrilled that we have the assurance that we will get to spend eternity together.

Another week

I took a couple of Spring-like pictures of the yard last week.

and the tulip tree out front. It has since lost most of it's blossoms due to wind & rain.

The dresser is painted and I really like it!

Here are a couple of photos of the bedroom with the new carpet. We are really enjoying being back on the main floor with a lot more space.



I got a few other chores done this week, inside & out.

Today I applied for a job at Joann's. They said they would call on Monday if I am to get a second interview. I'm not anxious about it and just figure what will be, will be.

home again, home again...

I quit my job and have been off work for 2 weeks now. Still trying to figure out a routine.

There are lots of projects around the house and I've gotten started on some. Next up, I think, is sanding and painting my dresser. We have moved back into the master bedroom and my dresser is kind of dingy. Since it will be inside the walk-in closet I think I'll paint it white to match the shelves. I also want to paint the cupboards in the upstairs bathroom (allergies permitting)


Maybe with more time on my hands I'll get back to blogging on regular basis. Maybe.
