catching up

I've taken a few photos lately with the intention of posting them....guess it's time;

A recent sunset from our front yard

and another as we drove west.

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

 February decor...celebrating love

Monday, November 28, 2011

It's beginning......

Today the Christmas decorating begins.  Nothing big yet, but I have taken down all the fall decor and put up things that I've been working on.
We're going for a homespun feel this year; starting with a double sided banner between the living room and dining room (burlap and fabric with paper letters); a wreath from torn strips of fabric; and an embroidery hoop collage.
Plus a bit of seasonal potpourri in various places.
That's it for now, at least until I get the energy
to drag things out of storage and really get to work.

I have reorganized my sewing/craft room and am trying some new creative projects. These are both on art canvas, the photo holder is 8x10 inches the "beach scene" is 16x20.

Lately

Here is what I have been doing that has kept me from blogging; taking bits of fabric and turning them into flowers:

Some will become pins, some hair clips, some will attach to necklaces or bracelets...and some will just hang around.

It has been wet and cold here and I am enjoying creating things that are inspired by nature and hopefully will be enjoyed by others.

God is Good...All theTime

Life gets hard but God is Good!

There is so much that is going right in the midst of a difficult time. For that I am very thankful.

I sold a second item on Etsy, an art quilt/wall hanging. That makes me want to get busy on some more crafts.

We had people around all week; my nephew Joe, his wife & son were here last weekend; my brother Bruce was here all week, we had seven visits from various hospice workers, our pastor came by to see Mom and last night friends came for dinner; a welcome break from our tedious routine.

I was able to go to church last Sunday & to Bible Study on Wednesday night. I also got out for about an hour last Thursday & did a bit of shopping. I got 3 pair of socks, 2 pair of shoes, 1 purse & 1 blouse for under $60!! That is something to be thankful for.
